Family Office Services · San Diego

Your professionals,
working as one team.

Family office services for founders, executives, and multi-generational families. Most successful clients already have great attorneys, CPAs, advisors, and vendors — scattered across firms and inboxes. Blueliner Group acts as your personal CFO, running it all as one operation across investments, business, tax, administrative, IT, and vendor relationships.

Particularly well-suited to founders and executives in San Diego's biotech, life sciences, and defense technology communities — and to multi-generational families and operating owners anywhere.

How it scales · Two tiers

Calibrated to where you are.

Blueliner Group runs two tiers of family office engagement. Personal CFO for multi-generational families and operating owners (typically $20M+) — bespoke, direct, capacity-limited. Fractional Family Office for founders, executives, and employees ($5M–$30M) — packaged, scheduled, with cohort engagements for colleagues at the same company. The two tiers overlap from $20M to $30M, where fit depends on complexity rather than asset level.

What we do

Six services. One coordinated operation.

Most problems aren't investment problems. They're coordination problems. We bring six service areas under one roof so the right decisions get made with full context — and the right people get pulled in at the right time.

Investment Coordination & Strategy

Selection and oversight of your investment advisor relationships, consolidated reporting across custodians, and strategic analysis and market research on request. Blueliner Group is not a registered investment advisor and does not recommend specific securities.

Business Development

For clients with operating businesses: performance analysis, financial audit, budget review, and contract negotiations.

Tax Services

Year-round tax planning and CPA / tax-attorney coordination. We take over document prep and run the strategy with your advisors.

Administrative Services

Bill pay, cash flow, document & records management, travel, events, education planning — an executive assistant with CEO qualifications.

IT Services

Information security, IT audit and management, and custom software or web development — household scale through enterprise.

Vendor Management

House renovations, technical work, luxury sourcing, legal coordination — from negotiations to statement of work to delivery.

Who we serve

Clients with great people, scattered across firms

We work best with people whose lives have outgrown a single advisor: founders and operators, multi-generational families, executives with complex compensation, and households with substantial personal infrastructure. Most already have a great attorney, a great CPA, and a great advisor — they just don't talk to each other.

Blueliner is the single point of coordination. We bring in long-standing partners from top firms when expertise is needed, and we run the operation so nothing falls between desks.

How we work →
How we work

A four-step engagement.

Most engagements follow the same path — quick to start, deliberate at each step.

01

Discovery

A 30-minute conversation. We learn the situation, the existing advisors, and what is on the horizon. You ask whatever you want about how we work and how we are paid.

02

Family Office Audit

A detailed review of the current setup. What is well-coordinated, what is not, where the quiet leaks are, what is at risk in the near term.

03

Coordination Plan

A written engagement scope, priorities, and fee. What we will own, what stays with your existing advisors, and how the work runs going forward.

04

Ongoing engagement

Scheduled cadence with your existing professionals, on-demand access during major events, and an annual full-picture review to reset priorities.

The firm

One principal. A vetted specialist network.

Julian R Kapchinskiy is principal of Blueliner Group, with more than 20 years advising founders, executives, and multi-generational families. He works directly with every client. There are no relationship managers, no investment committees, and no handoffs.

Behind that single point of contact is a network of senior partners at AmLaw 100 estate practices, top-tier California CPA firms, leading registered investment advisors, and established insurance, banking, and lending counterparties — pulled in as the work requires.

Discretion

Why you won't find client names or case studies here.

Blueliner Group does not publish client names, case studies, or testimonials, and does not ask clients to serve as references for prospective work. Asking a client to take a call about Blueliner would itself break the confidentiality we promise them — the same confidentiality that makes the firm worth hiring in the first place.

References are available from our network of senior partners — the CPA firms, estate attorneys, registered investment advisors, and other counterparties who have worked alongside us across many engagements. They can speak to how the firm operates, the quality of the work, and how Blueliner shows up in the seams between professions. Provided on request at the appropriate stage of a conversation.
